'tis wedding season!

With August just around the corner, wedding season is in full blow! The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the weather is lovely for a wedding, and that means that many of us are on the hunt for that perfect wedding gift. This can be quite the challenge. However, we at Walrus are aiming to make it as quick and easy as possible so that you can get back to enjoying the sunshine!

We have some wonderful new pieces in the store that would make lovely wedding gifts and we are excited to share them with you!

Here are some of my personal favourites in this wedding gift round-up!

Teroforma

Teroforma is a company that strives and succeeds at creating beautiful objects and products by working alongside hand-picked designers from around the globe. By rejecting the mass-produced aesthetic, and focusing on true craftsmanship, Teroforma creates thoughtful objects inspired by the people and places they love.

Another great gift idea for the couple that love to spend time in the kitchen, or for those that love to entertain in style, are the Avva S+P Mills. Wood Boards - ($35 - $125)
Mortar + Pestle - ($96)

Board (Oiled Oak) + Dipping Dish ($95 - $120)

The Raumgestalt Board + Dipping Dish are not only lovely to look at, they are actually a smart and practical addition to your kitchen. The board is made of oak and is oiled so that it is food-safe and it comes with a ceramic dish that features carvings at the bottom intended for you to grate or rub anything from garlic or ginger to chillies and herbs in order to infuse whatever kind of oil you wish to dip your bread into.

Henderson Dry Goods

We recently received quite a treat from Henderson Dry Goods designer Alex Henderson, a wonderful variety of her exquisite wood-framed mirrors. Available in both North American Black Walnut or Alder wood, these mirrors are a work of art and would make an incredible gift!

Long Wall Mirror - ($475)

Oval Wall Mirror - ($275 - $475)

boskke sky planters are back!

you may remember these fun planters we had a couple of years ago? they've got a new design!

"Produced from recycled plastic, a float-stick indicates the water level and two fixed-length hanging wires come included with each planter. For the keen urban gardener, this range is the perfect solution to get that ceiling garden started.  Each Sky Planter Recycled product uses Slo-flo irrigation technology."

quick review of why The Sky Planter it's so great...:
Save space
Conserve water (Potted plants commonly lose water through evaporation and drainage. The Boskke Sky Planter’s unique reservoir feeds water gradually to the plant’s roots. Because there is no excess water to drain away, they can be used indoors, without losing water to evaporation.)
Purify your air
Improve your health

Look up and enjoy the beauty of nature with a Boskke Sky Planter.

speaking of gardening, our friends over at  http://aloedesigns.com/  are having another workshop!

whatever your weekend holds, enjoy the sunshine fellow vancouverites...
